What a wondrous day
we had yesterday (July 7th) winding our way through the Canadian Rockies! We saw so much I
had to split this post in two!
Shortly after leaving
Summit Lake, which is the highest elevation of the Alaskan Highway, we came
upon a bull moose! I have searched this nation over to see one in the wild from
Yellowstone to Vermont's "Moose Alley" to no avail, so it was high on
my bucket list for this trip.
He made my day :)
And he couldn't care less that we were standing there watching him graze.
My new friend :)
Our first stop of the
day was Muncho Lake with reflections off the pristine blue green waters so
clear you could see the stones on the bottom.
Our next stop was at
the Liard Hot Springs. We were ready for a little relaxation :) It was a 10
minute walk from the parking area down a boardwalk to the Hot Springs. There is
an Alpha pool the cooler of the two at 108 degrees and a Beta pool at 126
degrees. We chose the Alpha which was plenty warm enough to relax our weary,
driving-strained muscles ;)
The only downside was
the swarms of mosquitos that were likin to eat us alive when we were out of
the water!
LOL Vicki!!! You could be right ;)
ReplyDeleteGreat moose shots--well worth all that searching. Neat that you actually took a dip in the springs. The others didn't.
ReplyDeleteAwesome pics and I love your posts Lady! Keep on having fun!
