Sunday, July 29th, I took a bus tour through Denali National Park. This park is 6 million acres of of pure beauty in any direction you look.
The driver narrated the history of the park and the different areas, such as the tundra and alpine forests along with the different animals roaming within.
The highlight for me was getting to see Denali for the fourth day in a row! It's a different view from within the park. And I sure picked a good weather week here to see it!
We saw 2 bears, 2 moose and 2 carabou, but they were so far away I didn't get any good pictures of them.
The park uses sled dogs to help maintain it during the winter months. They do a lot of research here. They give presentations on the history and current use of the dogs. Loved the log kennels each one lived in :)
And they are gorgeous dogs bred to specifics to carry heavy loads. They typically use one dog per 50lb of weight hauled on the sled.
The Park Ranger hooked some of the dogs up to the sled to demonstrate, and they were eager to go!
It was a beautiful and enjoyable day in the park :)
Great photos. Can't believe how fortunate you have been in your sightings of Denali--really lucky from what I hear.
